Biography

Described as “a star on the rise” (The Violin Channel), Australian cellist Benett Tsai has gained recognition as a compelling soloist and chamber musician, performing on major stages worldwide. A top prizewinner at the 2022 Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann in Berlin, he joined the roster of Young Concert Artists for management upon winning the 2023 YCA International Auditions in New York. In the 2026/27 season, he will debut with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, with further concerts at Carnegie Hall and Hong Kong City Hall. Recent collaborations include the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and Queensland Symphony Orchestra, in addition to renowned artists such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Emanuel Ax, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
